Mentoring philosophy

My goal is to help you succeed. I want to train you for a successful career, whether that be in industry, academia, policy, or anything else you can dream up. If you’re still figuring it out, I want to help you on that journey.

I will train you to identify a scientific question, propose a research project, work hard to pursue your goals, and clearly communicate your findings. I will help you to develop a supportive network of peers and advisors. We will accomplish these objectives through regularly scheduled meetings, whether via Zoom, outside with masks, or in the lab. Together we will dive into scientific mysteries and emerge with something new to tell the world.

I have participated in mentoring workshops sponsored through Washington University and the NIH. Trainees in the Wolf Lab complete IDPs at least once per year. We are always looking for ways to learn and grow.
